About

Mid-thirties, solo adventurer, tea drinker and lover of long trails and lazy sundays.

Hi. My name is Brittney and I want to publish a novel one day.

A lifelong enthusiast of fantasy literature, I discovered the enchanting realms of magic and adventure as most aspiring authors do, as a kid.

Introduced to Terry Goodkind's The Sword of Truth series at just 11 years old by my fantasy loving father, I embarked on a journey through the fantastical worlds of David Eddings The Belgariad, Anne McCaffreys Dragonriders of Pern, and of course all things Lord of the Rings.

Over time my tastes moved past fantasy into the classics, reading The Odyssey, The Illiad and pretty much anything Jane Austen wrote. While I will always hold a special place in my heart for Mr. Darcy, I will always cherished the mystical over the mundane first.

Now married and daylighting as the Executive Director of a non-profit organization, I navigate not only the challenges of being a military spouse, a Dungeon Master and secret lover of video games, but the most common challenge of all writers — motivation.

Amidst this busy schedule, I am diligently crafting my debut novel, 'The Godswell,' where I plan to channel my love for fantasy into a tale of epic proportions. You might even find me writing about it here, on this website, instead of actually writing it… because procrastination is a writers best weapon against writers block.
